Wooden Farm and Estate Signs This farm sign has been made using a mixture of signs. The farm name is carved in 6 inch high oak. The information signs below it are made in 4 inch oak. 3"x3"  softwood posts have been used and the smaller signs are hung by chains. The main sign has been screwed to the posts. It could have been morticed into the posts at a cost of £16.50. Farm name STYLE L Upper and lower case. Cost - Up to 6 letters £57.25 Additional Letters £2.00 Hanging signs STYLE J Upper and lower case. Cost - Up to 6 letters £39.06 Additional Letters £2.00     Oak Pegs Ideal for smaller signs - no more than 6 inches high. The two oak pegs are 24" long allowing 12" underground and a clearance of at least 6" between the ground and the bottom of the sign. Cost - £17.65 per pair Small Oak Posts 2"x 2"  These are suitable for larger signs or if you require a ground clearance of up to 18 inches. When calculating the length please allow 18inches underground. The 2x2 inch posts are planed down and treated with several coats of Danish Oil. Cost £6.50 per foot. 6" high oak sign with text on both sides, shaped arrow, morticed into 6ft 3"x3" post Treated Softwood Posts Although a cheaper alternative to oak these posts are still attractive. They are normally treated with a black preservative and include an oak postcap. Brown preservative is also available. Signs can simple be screwed onto the posts or, as in the case of this directional arrow sign, they can be morticed into the post. (£7.50 per mortice joint) For tall posts please allow at least 2 foot underground. The 3"x3" post is suitable for most signs. 3"x 3" Cost £4.00 per foot 4"x 4" Cost £7.50 per foot Oak Posts Oak is heavy and durable but it is expensive when compared to softwood.We can mortice the signs into the posts if required @ £8.25 per mortice joint 3" x 3" oak posts are suitable for most signs As with the signs posts must also be treated regularly with Danish Oil to prevent water penetration and keep them looking attractive. Please note with the larger oak posts cracks can appear as the timber ages. 3" x 3" Oak Posts up to 4 foot - £57.00 5 - 6 foot - £86.00 7 - 8 foot - £114.00 4" x 4 " Oak Posts up to 4 foot - £81 5 - 6 foot - £121 This sign has been made using 4 inch high signs 18 inches long. They have been shaped as arrows and moticed into a 3" x 3" oak post. Posts with Arm for Hanging Signs These can be made with oak or softwood and are ideal for hanging signs. The posts is 8 foot high and the arm is made to suit the sign. If you are ordering  a post without a sign please state the length of arm required.
